The Competition Of Video Game Madden Tournaments Amid The Faithful Of The Collection

Imagine a crowd forming around and chanting you name. People are screaming in joy and there are high fives going all around. No this is not a concert that you are the star of but one of the many Video game madden tournaments that are held all across the country each and every year.

There is little doubt that these tournaments are designed to determine the best of the best and separate the rookies from those that eat, drink and sleep this game. These are the people that have their copy the second that it is able to be purchased and will spend days in a row trying to become the best of the best with the game.

Things have become so popular, that many times there are film crews from a popular sports network to film these and turn them into specials to air. The people that compete in these are household names that are able to be recognized by the faithful that have devoted their life to the franchise.

All across sports bars in the country, there are tournaments that award prizes to the winner. These can become loud and passionate at times, but in the end it is all about who has the best skills to survive and be crowned the champion. This is one of the more popular tournaments that has taken off all across the country. Skill is only one part of the entire equation, there is also the amount of dedication that these players have and prove this by going against some of the best that come from all over the globe in order to be crowned the world champion. Regardless of what you say about them, these players are some of the best around as they have made it this far. There is a great amount of strategy that goes into forming a play against another opponent that you have no idea is going to run on you. This makes things a lot more difficult and means that you need to adjust on the fly in such a circumstance. These tournaments allow a person to see and feel what it is like to be an actual coach. They are having to second guess their opponents and hope that they have the best game plan in place.

Other tournament pop up out of nowhere and are among a certain group of friends. Here the wager is money and often times this leads to a person being a little richer than when they entered the tournament. While these are not sanctioned by any official body, they are still fun as you get the chance to compete against your friends for dominance in the football world. Maybe it is the thrill of playing as your favorite player, or the draw of knowing that you are the best at something. Whatever the reason for the popularity, there seems to be no end in sight for this franchise and for the fans that love the game. The next time that you see an advertisement for Video game madden tournaments, remember that somewhere there is a player that is training to have the right to be called champion and working towards the ultimate goal of being the best in the world.

Real Players Play Playstation Football Games

When Madden footballs games were in their early stated many considered them to be a failure when held against the original vision. This had much to do with the limits placed on that vision as a result of the fact that there was simply not enough computer power in the average home system to bring the game to life in the way the original vision called for. Of course, 20 years later, 85 million games sold and profits that to 3 billion have proved it to be an extreme success. It now boasts real football player names and statistics, professional plays and exceptional graphics. These are a few of the many reasons why it has become quite possibly the more popular of the playstation football games.

Madden was actually not the first professional approached by the developers of the game back in the 1980's. One of the top Quarterbacks at the time and other coaches were actually offered the opportunity but turned it down either though lack of interest or prior commitments. The game has certainly grown in both style and features over the years. Updated features and new ones are implement with every game release. One of these was known as franchise mode. It was presented almost 10 years after the game was originally sold, and while other baseball games offered general manager features such as drafting and trades, Madden was the first football game to bring these options to the screen. More game modes were brought to the user with the release of the 2003 version. Of course a player could start the game and choose to simply play a single game, only now they had the options to play an entire season and even multiple seasons. It was in this version that online play was first offered, initially exclusive to uses of the playstation 2 console.

In the version released in 2004, the playmaker tool was introduced. This was an exciting new feature that gave players the ability to use joystick control to change the direction of plays at the line of scrimmage. This allowed for better audibles to be chosen after the defensive alignment was seen and greatly enhanced the realism for the game. When the 2005 version was released, the playmaker tool was implemented for the defense. This was an important addition since in the previous versions the offense could make changes that were difficult for the defense to adjust to. Now, the defense could use the joystick to make adjustments just as the offense could. This made the game more fair on both sides of the ball and once again enhanced it's realism.

Later released added more new and exciting features such as the trick stick, the ability to control lead blockers for enhanced running plays, a new weapons control for superstar players, and league play. League play allowed for up to 32 people to play an entire season week by week on the internet. Newer versions are moving Madden to a true-to-life football simulation making it more than just a game. Playstation football games have dominated pc and console football games for more than 2 decades, and the vision for the future promises even more innovation. Playstation 3 Madden football games promise a unique experience, whether you are playing against the computer or a friend, either using the same console or across the internet.

What You Ought To Understand Concerning Playstation Football Games

You will have likely noticed that if you have been playing a good bit of sports games throughout the life of video games in general, that they have progressively improved through each passing year. You will find that a good example of this would be Playstation football games. They are always improving every single edition that is annually released.

You will find that if you take the time to read through this particular article that you will get a good look at why this is the case with these newer football titles. People are quite literally drawn to them and with good reason. You will get a decent look at the most popular selling points of these titles so that you can determine for yourself if you can have a great time playing one of these titles. When you turn the game on, you are going to be able to tell very easily what one of the most efficient selling point actually is. This would be the heightened graphics that turns your football experience loose on the world of high definition electronics. So while the game looked great anyway, it is now in high definition on top of that if you are playing on HD compatible components.

In addition to this, the roster remains consistent with the previous year's players. So if your favorite player was on a roster the year before the game that you are playing, than you are going to be able to play them in the game. This is a pretty nice feature because it keeps things current, however these titles like Madden have gone a step farther than even this. You will also find that a popular edition to the last few years of football games would be the downloadable content. This is means to not only get the most up to date information concerning your team and their stats, but also their latest roster choices and depth chart decisions. So if your team picked up a favorite college player in the draft after your game's roster was made, you can still have him as a player in your game.

You will find that the game play itself has received a bit of a face lift as well. You see, so many games were made that were generic in various positions, and the consistencies that you would experience made the game play unrealistic. However, everything affects the game now. Weather, individual computer performance of unused players, and a number of other crucial aspects.

You will find that you are going to have to start thinking more like the Field General that you are. You have to wait for receivers to get open, you have to wait for the perfect lane opening to run through or make a new one if need be. You have to play defense well, too or you are going to have quite a close game on your hands. Learn the teams you play, notice the patterns and you can master defensive play. You will find that Playstation football games are just all around better than other football titles have been in many years. While the changing of graphics and performance helped, most people believe that it had more to do with the companies listening to the fans and what they wanted to play.

A Look At The Progression Of NHL Games For Xbox & Playstation Game Consoles

When lots of people who have at some point been games console players look back at their youth, then it seems so great back then. Every little thing as a child seemed bigger and better than when you grow up. That is of course apart from sports and NHL games for Xbox & Playstation game consoles. In the last thirty years we have been privileged to benefit from the advances in technology.

It's no longer a case of pushing a little puck which looks more like a white dot around the screen. Or even controlling a matchstick version of Wayne Gretsky around as if that made you feel like it was him on the screen. No though people can play a game of hockey on their console for pure enjoyment. The problem that has prevailed over the years is that while the ability of computer graphic artists and programmers increased, the consoles were behind. Now though, we are at a stage where the technology has gone so far that our ability to use it is lagging behind. But it matters little about which is better, graphics or game play, the game player of today wants it all.

The games that have gone down in history whether they have been hockey, NHL, console based or not, have all had one thing in common. They have all been very playable. In some, the presentation didn't really matter at all. Like the type with the falling blocks that you have to arrange, many games relied solely on their ability to keep you coming back for more. Hockey games have been no different and no matter who is on the cover of any NHL title, it's what's inside the box that has really mattered.

While both of these games had the very best levels of playability, they really paid little attention to detail with the presentation. The genius that invented either of those really understood what makes people tick. Sadly their talents will be missed but they paved the way forward for sports and action games makers.

Now Hockey games are particularly entertaining on any games platform because they combine control, timing and quick perception. These are all vital components in any entertaining sports game. Thankfully there are many talented programmers working hard to produce something that they also like. Really that has been key to making hockey games that can be played on a games console. They have had to make something that a true hockey professional has put their name to in many cases. So it's not just about making something that looks pretty but is awful or slow to move. On the other hand it is not been a good idea to make something that has been easy to move but looks terrible.

People and especially the younger generation of today are extremely luck to be able to play NHL games for Xbox & Playstation game consoles the way that they do. So much has been done over years of development that it's hard to comprehend what early games were like. Suffice to say they were cumbersome at best.

Defeat Your Friends Or Strangers In NHL 10 Tournaments

Hockey is a sport full of action. Constantly there are fights, slap-shots, and action so fast your eyes won't be able to catch up. But just as quickly as the season comes, it goes again. However, there is a great way to get the competitive spirit of hockey while playing as your favorite team by participating in NHL 10 tournaments on the Xbox 360 or PS3.

NHL 10 is one of the greatest sports game of the year. While Madden tends to take up most of the spotlight, it is clear from the throngs of video game reviews and personal accounts that this is a must have game for anyone remotely interested in hockey. You may not get the physical feeling of the ice on your face as you crush someone against the boards, but it will be sure to capture the real feeling of hockey on the ground floor. Tournaments for this game have popped up all over the place. From college dorms to local bars to playing strangers over the internet, it has filled the competitive itch so many people have. Fill out a massive bracket and play as your team with pride and vigorous ferocity to be the last man standing, wherever you may be.

Sure this all sounds like fun and games, but it can be much more worth your time if you can find a tournament that offers a cash reward for a victory. Be honest, you weren't planning on doing anything with your Saturday besides play video games anyway right? So make a few bucks in the process and call it a great day. The tournaments come in a variety of shapes and sizes, ranging in play and players alike. After a set number of people are signed up and the games begin, players play one-on-one games, advancing in a bracket every time they win. Tournaments can be as small as 4 players and become as big as a few hundred participants. Either way, you will have to work for that top spot. There are countless websites on the internet that offer tournaments either local or via online connection. Man are open and free to play in as long as you have the game and necessary connections to support online play. However, some website have entry fee's so that only the most elite of players will join in, and most of the time it is these tournaments that hold a hefty cash prize at the end. If you are good enough, drop a few dollars in for the chance to walk away with a lot more, just for playing a game.

Winning gives the biggest boost in pride and confidence as a gamer. You just had hours of fun and intense competition, and there is nobody left to defeat. Best case scenario for winning is you walk away with some prize cash to put towards your next video game or weekend toys. The worst case is you only win pride and the ability to rub it in your friend's face. The community drives the need for tournaments, so if you enjoy the game and have a competitive spirit, it only makes sense to get out and participate. NHL 10 tournaments are happening everywhere, and they want you to be a part of the action.

A Quick NBA Live 2010 10 Game Overview For The PlayStation And Xbox

This is a quick NBA Live game review for PlayStation and Xbox. NBA Live is one of Electronic Art's most well known console games. Every year, several sports games are released however NBA Live's annual edition always ends up being among the most popular. The latest version is no different, with its high tech graphics, new jerseys, and resolution, this final edition of NBA Live has garnered very positive reviews.

NBA Live 10 has bonus jerseys, a very first for these games. Vintage jerseys from the 80s and 90s were included as well as numerous alternate uniforms for many of NBA teams. Using bonus codes, even more jerseys and throwback shoes can be used. It is questionable if every NBA team will get new game uniforms but two bonus codes have been unlocked so far and more are probably coming. The graphics in this game received a massive overhaul. The game features quicker and smoother animations that allow for maximum play. Items like the lights and courts were designed to look very realistic. It's a bit grainy when enhanced on plasma screens but generally looks extremely well.

Other smaller graphics like the background and the players are more detailed as well. Unlike previous installments, this year's NBA Live game has a much more realistic background. The members of the crowd were designed to look more real and lifelike. Even the players themselves were give more exact and personal details such as tattoos, hairstyles, and other accessories. The basketball stars in this edition were made to be more easily recognized than previous ones. NBA Live 10's controls were changed slightly so that it is not essential to control the athletes every second of the game. Playing in the auto mode can end in many turnovers though. For users who desire to, it is very easy to expand the control to cover the athletes.

Game play on this year's NBA Live was made simple enough so that even someone who has never played any basketball video games will still be able to get the hang of it. Actions like passing and shooting are single button functions. Both of the PlayStation and Xbox use the main joy stick on the controllers to move the players around. It is simple to play defense as well, just position one of the basketball players in front of one from the opposing team will result in the sim automatically doing the rest. The update of the player DNA system from past games has significantly improved as well. The 2010 edition's DNA updates individual player's tendencies and attributes almost instantly. This year's game will also allow users to play real games almost as they happen in the real world. And with the NBA team's rosters and line ups updating instantly in the game, it makes for a much improved Dynasty Mode as well. The soundtrack was updated and revamped for this version to include more current bands and artists. There are more songs this year and that cuts down drastically on the music's redundancy during the game and training mode. They were programmed to change and react to the beat of the games.

FIFA Soccer Games For XBox And Playstation - The Expansion And Revisions

The FIFA games have a long heritage stretching back to 1993. It's spanned across every major games console since then and was the first game to receive the official license from FIFA, the world governing body of football. Many of the latest games include exclusively-licensed leagues and teams, giving a boost over the competition. Its growth since the original game is phenomenal and is heavily based on community feedback in some cases. It's released annually and is published and developed by Electronic Arts. Considered the best games, the FIFA soccer games for XBox and Playstation have seen some of the biggest expansion in terms of content.

2006

FIFA 07 was released in September 2006 and marked the beginning of the next generation FIFA games. Available on the XBox 360, it focuses on refinement, rather than growth. The available teams have been reduced to the four European leagues, plus other national teams. To improve immersion, the atmosphere has also been improved with the crowd's ability to react to events throughout the game with small pockets of away support cheering in certain parts of the stadium or the home crowd being local to the region.

FIFA 08

'Be a Pro Mode' has been improved since the previous games as it now allows the user to play a single player, rather than having the ability to swap between any of the team. Additionally, the multiplayer aspects of the game have been improved, such as allowing online cooperative play and interactive leagues between players. This means players can choose a league and team to play against a real opponent and also includes trick moves, a bonus over previous iterations of this mode. FIFA 08 also saw an overall decrease in speed throughout the game.

2008 - FIFA 09

While each FIFA game sees improvements per release of the game, FIFA 09 supposedly included 250 changes. While not exhaustive, here are some of the largest changes. The user's players now exhibit more responsiveness in many situations, such as when in control of the ball and when two players collide. The entire collision system has been thoroughly redesigned so that during the collision, the players' speed, weight and power will have an effect who comes out best in that particular confrontation. Furthering this responsiveness, the goalkeeper has also been improved to recover faster, position himself better and react more intelligently.

The weather has also seen its own overhaul as it now allows snow and rain matches in Kick-Off mode. Furthermore, depending on the stadium, night, dusk and day matches can be played. Manager mode does not feature the weather changes.

2009 - FIFA 10

The latest game to be released, it has less improvements than the previous game, but perhaps more important for some. The Manager mode has been overhauled in many ways. It now shows news about other users' Manager Mode events and an Assistant Manager can be used to look after some of the game's other features, such as the team line up. The Auto-Resolve matches are now based on each team's strength, rather than random, as it was suggested in the past. The football players now improve based on ingame performance rather than the previous manual improvements.

The Curse of the Madden Cover Athlete

Madden is one of the most look-forward-to releases on xbox and PS3 every year, and this year is no exception. For more than 20 years, this franchise has been an undeniably big hit. The team behind Madden even attends the NFL Draft every year in order to get headshots of rookies in their NFL uniforms as early as humanly possible. The game has become so popular that tournaments where professionals play head-to-head for loads of money have made it onto television for our viewing pleasure. And people are known to come up with every excuse in the book in order to get out of work on the very day the game releases - making it as close to a national holiday as the video game industry is likely to get.

For all the good that comes with the hype and hysteria of Madden NFL, there is a downfall to the game's yearly release. In 1999, John Madden relinquished the cover of each game to a player...and since then, those players have ahd notortiously rough years.

In the first week of the 2009 season, the Madden curse had already reared it's ugly head. Two players made their way onto the cover of Madden 10 for the first time ever. Defending Super Bowl Champion safety of the Pittsburgh Steelers Troy Polamalu goes head-to-head with one of the men he covered in the big game last February, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Well, Polomalu got hurt in the very first game he played after being put on the cover of Madden, a medial collateral ligament sprain. He didn't return.

You'd think that the NFL would have leraned it's leason by now. When EA Sports comes calling, it's probably in everybody's best interest to decline the offer regardless of how prestigious and financially rewarding the opportunity might be. Whether you're just as superstitious, you can't deny the historical evidence of the Madeen curse's negative impact.

Some Hisrotical Examples:

2002: Daunte Culpepper, QB, followed up his 2000 NFC championship appearance by leading his team to a 5-11 season, and missed the final 5 games of the season with an injured knee following his fateful appearance on the cover of Madden 2002: he hsan't recovered yet.

2003: As the 2003 cover athlete, St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk had an ankle injury all season and failed to reach 1,000 rushing yards for the first time since 1996, while the Rams team went 7-9 and missed the playoffs.

2004: The Falcons finished 5-11 in 2003 when their youg star dual-threat QB missed the entire season due to injury. Guess what? He had been featured on that year's Madden.

2006: Donovan McNabb was featured on the cover of Madden 06, and in week one of the 2005 season, you guessed it, Donovan McNabb suffered a hernia. It plagued ihim all season, and he eventually missed the last 7 games of the season.

That evidence is hard to refute. So, how will Drew Brees fare against the msyterious and enignmatic "Madden Curse?"
